Reject 53 — An Evening to Keep Your Vote

For nearly twenty years, Pierce County voters have had the final say over who runs their sheriff's office. Charter Amendment 53 takes that decision away and hands it to a small group of appointed officials.

This isn't about any one sheriff. It's about whether Pierce County residents keep a voice in how their community is policed — or lose it permanently. In 2006, Pierce County voters chose an elected sheriff after 26 years of appointments. Amendment 53 would undo that choice.
